Valerie decided to pursue a career in massage and bodywork after receiving her first Reiki treatment in 1996. She was amazed by the positive affects and felt Reiki gave her clarity to follow her next path with relaxed confidence. She received her Reiki Master designation in 1997 and graduated from the Wellness and Massage Training Institute in 1998. She has been a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist since 2000. In 2012, she completed the certification program for Zero Balancing, a hands-on mind-body therapy developed in 1973 by Fritz Smith, M.D. (see link)

In her massage work, Valerie uses a combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques and uses gradual, consistent pressure with a therapeutic focus. Valerie believes that massage therapy is an avenue for a person to become more aware of their self and state of wellness. The more involved and aware a person is in their own health, the more empowered they become. The new awareness expands to their family and to the larger community as well.

In her free time, Valerie enjoys studying Flower Essence Therapy and working with healing plants and crystals. After living in Arizona for the past 7 years, Valerie moved to Minnesota in 2012 to be closer to her family living here. She is looking forward to discovering the parks and walking trails in the Twin Cities.
